I don't think the quarter-round would look OK or be a period detail.......

The Victorians were apt to add MORE molding than less.......The perfectly cut and installed crown in the Bay is always the "piece de'resistance" for the trim carpenter..........

Perhaps....If you needed something.....you could fashion a beaded cap to add to the window pediments.......
