Hampton Bay Southwind V light and fan crosswired???

As noted in the subject line, i just installed a S v and i used that remote they gave me... the fan button turns on the light (hi med and lo) and the light button turns on the fan which runs at one speed.

i triple checked my wiring and as usual it is fantastic! so i'm thinking it is internal. anyone else ran into this or called the company to see if in fact the fan is crossedwired?

any help would be appreciated! cheers mate.
