Removing Silicone

Hard to do! Cut it off with a knife or razor scraper and then use a silicone caulk remover chemical to get the rest off. This is going to make a mess of your walls and molding, unfortunately.
Tell your DH to throw away the silicone caulk. There are few places that it is really needed and it is messy to work with.
