It can be done and it would be the same as using raised trusses for cathedral ceilings. Things to consider are the wind, snow, and the dead etc. loading on the roof. Go to a lumber yard that builds trusses. Tell them what you want to do. Buy the lumber and materials from them along with the advice for doing it. Good luck.
