I bought my neptune 11/9/98 and have the repairman out three times since I had it for minor repairs, until this week. The machine sounds like a train is in my house, it is so loud during the last cycle. I am being told that the bearings in the tub are out, and it will cost over $300 just in parts. I called Maytag, and the rep was pretty snotty to me and told me the machine was out of warranty and it was too old. I was steaming by the time I hung up. They would not pay for the parts. We will probably get a new washer and junk this one. I will NEVER buy another Maytag product and am in the process of writing them and letting them know. I will never recommend a Maytag to anyone either.
