Maytag Neptune and flooding Posted by Diane on September 9th, 2004 07:14 PM In reply to Maytag neptune by Unregistered-s keller on September 9th, 2004 06:57 PM [Go to top of thread]
I know for a fact that they've heard of the overfilling problem, from me. I had my Neptune FL for 3 months in my brand new home when it kept filling and wouldn't stop (this past March). Due to the warranty, they came out and "fixed" it by replacing the door lock which was not the problem. Two loads later, it did it again. What a mess. Water flowed under the mud room to the subfloor under my kitchen hardwood floor which warped it. It then went into my basement (forunately unfinished, but got some boxes wet) and my air duct that was in the laundry room. There are actually two posters on this site that say all the Neptune problems are operator error. All you have to do it read the posts here and you 'll know that that many people can't be unable to figure out a washing machine. My husband and I convinced Maytag to replace the FL with a new Neptune TL after 3 phone calls and working our way up the chain. It's a better machine, but I will never buy Maytag again. I had a previous Maytag set for almost 9 years and never had any problem. But, I really dislike the attitude of their so called customer service. They are very nice at first til you actually expect them to do something and then they become defensive and rude. And of course, bring out the "we've never heard of that problem before" statement.
It's just really pathetic that you spend that kind of money on something like a washing machine and then have no recourse when it fails. Class action lawsuits are a waste of time and effort. The lawyers make all the money and the customers get coupons and a few dollars. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
