They try to blame everything on consumer ignorance. Also, every post I've seen has repairmen blaming the use of too much laundry detergent and asking if you're using HE. Almost universally HE is used and in the right amounts (although Maytag wants you to used a ridiculously small amount). It's amazing how stupid we all are. Maytag really thinks they can blame it all on the purchaser. Come on, There can't be that many ignorant people that can afford to spend $1000 on a washing machine. What were we thinking by doing our laundry in a washing machine? I've gone from a Neptune FL that flooded my home twice to a Neptune TL that was a replacement after arguing with Maytag. It's a better machine in that it doesn't overfill and I've had no mildew problems, but I dont' know that it cleans any better than my old TL. It just uses less water and takes longer to wash. Maytag has its head in the sand. There are just too many posts by unhappy consumers for it to be a fluke or typical small percentage of manufacturing flaws expected in the industry.
