asbestos shingles - repairing

Please provide your advice regarding my need to repair asbestos shingles. Eleven years ago they were painted and have held the paint very well. However, due to overgrown vines that attached themselves to, in, and around the shingles, I now have numerous areas where the "tentacles" of the vines took off pieces of paint when the vines were pulled away. I need to repaint these spots, and also replace some shingles that got broken. Thanks for any and all responses, including recommended resources for purchasing any suggested materials.
