Smell in Fridge

One thing that has worked for me with the musty/sour smell in a shut-up fridge is to take a bowl and fill it with charcoal, put it in and close the door. Don't use briquets, they usually have lighting agents which can add their own smell to the mix, but try to get a natural style charcoal. Change the charcoal every 3-4 days for 2 or 3 weeks and you should notice a change for the better, then try the newspaper and/or vanilla. Good luck, and let us know how it works out.
