Easy to put together kits are available and insulating it is basically a round disk up top that you lift off. However spiral stairs do not meet code (in a lot of areas) where they lead to living spaces. If you are still going to use the attic as an attic that should not be a problem except that how do you carry say a mattress or chest of drawers up to the attic on a spiral stairs?
