Cutting Thin Material.....

Very often when cutting thin material you have better control and less binding if the blade is installed backwards. Applying pressure with the forward stroke is then easier to control.
Installing the blade backwards in a hacksaw also helps when cutting thin tubing or downspouts, etc.
