I am about to attempt to lay tile in the kitchen. I've read/heard that if the house was built before '86 that there's a chance that the vinyl flooring underneath has asbestos in it when torn up ? in the dust or whatever ? and you have to have it removed professionally and/or dispose of it properly, etc. ? does this ring a bell with anyone ? how do you find out if your flooring has this ? my house was built in '85.
