Just bought a retractable awning and are having bracket mounting problem on vinyl siding. They have given us a stud finder that only will detect studs 1.5" away from stud. I think my siding plus the wood board and etc.. will be more than 1.5" depth. So when I climb up the ladder and was unable to find these studs. Do you have any easy recommendation to finding studs behind vinly siding?
