Doorbell transformer v.o.c?

Posted by RonaldMcDonald on October 6th, 2004 02:27 PM

I am wanting to replace the old doorbell in my house with a new 24v doorbell. I was trying to check the transformer to make sure it was compatible and had a couple of questions. On the Honeywell AT30A 120v 50/60cy transformer plate it has 25 V.O.C and 20 V.A. listed. What exactly do those numbers refer to? I am guessing 25 v.o.c means the transformer is rated up to 25 volts and would be suitable for a new 24v doorbell but I am wanting to make sure.
