hairline cracks

kgeremia, inside corners seem more vunerable to those hairlines cracks, which is probably your situation if they poured against existing steps. If you want to make the contractor aware of it, maybe you could call him on the pretense of getting a recommendation of a caulk or sealer to use on it, maybe see if he'll look at it, but I wouldn't hold out hope or expect that he'll do anything about it. As Jasper said, hairline cracks happen.

Jasper, If it wasnt done when poured, I'd recommend cutting some control joints in the slab, at the outer limit of the future walls (or the outer edge of the footing if monolithic pour) to keep those patio cracks from migrating into your future floor area, and also so you dont get uncontrolled cracking when you put the building load on the slab.
