I have an exterior door (18 years old) that has split due to weather on the bottom. I sanded the door down, filled the cracks with a good filler, primed the door with an exterior oil based primer then repainted it with exterior latex. A month later, the wood split again where I have filled in the cracks. What did I do wrong and what should I do to repair the splits?
