Removing Oil-based paints from hands

As a painter, I get a bit of oil-based paints on my hands, etc. and do not like to bathe in paint thinner. I have found that vegetable oil [like Wesson] will cut thru oil-based paint and is easier on the hands. After getting the paint off, I just wash up with dish soap, like Palmolive or Dawn, to remove the vegetable oil.
