I live in Columbus, Ohio.
I am getting ready to finish my basement with a friend of mine. Currently I have a block wall basement with a crawl space that is capped.
In the main basement I have put on the DryLock waterproofing. I have lived in the house over 2 years and have had no issues with water or moisture. I have been told by several contractors to put the vapor barrier against the block wall, then hang the studs about and inch off the block wall for air flow, then attach the drywall. Just recently I have heard to hang the studs an inch off the DryLocked block, insulate, then hang the vapor barrier. Which is it? And what are the pros and cons of doing one way or the other. Please give me some insight.
Thanks
