Vinyl siding needs room to expand and contract. Dark colors need even more room to expand than light colors. Three things that could cause the siding to "bubble" are.
1) Siding cut too tight...not enough room for expansion in the j-channels and corner posts.
2) Nails not placed in the center of the nailing slots...siding needs to ba able to slide on the nails in either direction when expanding and contracting.
3) Nails driven too tight....same reason, siding needs to be able to slide on the nail shank and can't if pinched tight between nail head and sheathing.
