Have same machine, and had same problem last year.
Yes, you got crud in the carb. Do your routine seasonal start-up maintenance, then, with the fuel valve turned off, drain the carburetor bowl by pushing up on the little nub on the bottom. Then if I remember right, the bowl can be removed with a single nut. Using choke cleaner, clean it thoroughly inside, make sure the float operates freely, then put it back together. Drain any old gas from the tank and refil with fresh gas.
It SHOULD then start.
