I am in Washington, DC and I am converting an existing 3rd bedroom to a bathroom and walk-in closet. There are two 15 A circuits that service the room. However, I was told that now everyone is using a 20A circuit just for the GFCI outlet and having a separate circuit for the rest of the bathroom fixtures. Is this true and is it really required or just something some people are doing.
