I was doing some research online and found this:

The F76S looks as though it is made to be installed BEFORE the pump to me. Here is a quote from the site on the filter:
"Help extend the life of your piping, valves, fixtures, pumps, and storage tanks with a sediment and debris removal filter from Honeywell-Braukman. Used as a prefilter, these quality filters can also help to extend the life of your other filters. Click here for our extensive selection of water filtrations products."
Unfortunately, this filter is in the 400 dollar price range which is currently OUT of MY price range! LOL!
