Gas Furnace pops Circuit Breaker

Posted by DReuther on December 15th, 2004 01:46 AM

About 2 months ago our Carrier Gas Furnace 58TUA135 started to pop the circuit breaker it is connected to. We replaced the furnace control board, the blower motor was replaced last year. We also installed a brand new circuit breaker panel. Circuit breaker is still popping. It can happen while the furnace is running or at night when it is not running. Per electrician nothing except the furnace is connected to the circuit breaker. With the blower motor running at maximum speed the furnace pulls about 11 amps. The circuit breaker is 20 amps.

I don't know what else to do. Any tip would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dieter
