I just finished painting (over wallpaper- not sure if it will last but the walls look OH SO GOOD now!) above the chair railing in my dining room using the RL Suede Paint. The first coat, I rolled the entire room. (can #1)The next day, I HATED the look..It was streaky and overall yucky! So I tried to "fix" it by painting it again. (can #2)
By this time, I figured I was doing something wrong, and only then thought to read the can's directions. (As if I didn't know HOW to paint a wall!) Couldn't read due to the paint spilled over the edges of the can while pouring. I got online to the RL Paint site and watched the *HOW TO APPLY* video for the RL Suede paint.
Bottom line:
The sencond coat is applied by making different sized X's, using a 3" paintbrush. YOU MUST DO THIS IN ORDER FOR THE PAINT TO OBTAIN THAT BRUSHED SUEDE LOOK!! DO NOT ROLL any portion of the second (or in my case, the 3rd coat) Be sure to tape off the edges of those walls already painted! (paint should be dry) The walls look wonderful!! I had some left over paint so I went back to some of the areas (corners and near chair railing) to *touch up*. IF you follow the directions, you will be very pleased with the outcome!! Don't check this site often-- so if you have questions: sylvia12@aol.com Best of luck!
