the problem should be either a bad thermocouple (looks like a metal tube or coil), or a ignition ceramic.
Most likely with your model it is the LATTER. What happens is that the ceramic usually gets hot enough to ignite the flame, but if it has been broken, the ceramic might glow but not get hot enough to ignite the gas.
The part is about 15-20 dollars, and you can get it from a local appliance repair store or special order at Lowes or Home Depot. I would avoid buying the part online as if the replacement does not work, you will have a hard time returning. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
