Duct sealing worth the cost to cure dusty house problems?

I am replacing my furnace and one of the contractors said I need to seal up my ducts to help with the excessive dust problems in my home. The cost is approx $1k. I have a 2 story, 4 bedroom house and live in Pittsburgh and my heating bills are no higher than $200/month. The house is well insulated and I don't see a cost savings need for the duct sealing.
Is sealing the ducts a real solultion to cure a dusty house?
