I have a traditional home with a fireplace with mirrored panels (not tile) around my brass/ glass insert. I have two questions. 1. I would like to remove the mirrors and replace with tile or marble tiles. The hearth is not raised and is marble. My question is can I replace the mirrored panels without removing the mantle and do I need to pull the insert out too.
2. Can I paint the brass front black with a little sanding and the proper paint to calm the comtemporary look.
