Is the melted plastic interfering with the arms that turn? If so, the plastic has to be chipped off somehow. Maybe run it through the cycle to the heated dry portion and scrape it off while still warm. If the plastic melted into the pump, you will probably need a new pump. In that case, if it is old, you might want to spring for a new DW.
