I put glued Pergo Select in our hall bath and have no problems. I installed the Pergo right up to the flange and sealed it well with a 50-year latex caulk. I expect it to outlast me!
I didn't have to use anything but a single wax ring. When you set the toilet in place, you can feel the wax compress if all is well. But I have many times used double wax rings and none have failed; there is VERY little water pressure at that point. Use the ring with a plastic funnel on the bottom and one without the funnel on top.
I used a FluidMaster waxless seal once but didn't have confidence in it; don't think I will use one again.
