HELP!! For the past year, I have been going nuts, to fix this problem. Have done lot of research, lot of "bleeding", but the pipe knocking noise inside the family room walls continues.
It always happens when we turn on hot/cold water on the one master bedroom level washroom - whether it is the sink, or the showerhead or the tub or the toilet.
Think it is the toilet. When we flush, at the end of the flush there is a knocking hammering sound in the pipe (inside the floor and wall) traced from the toilet, to the bedroom floor, then down to the family room.
Funny part is, anything else used from the same washroom : shower, sink or tub, causes the same hammering sound in the same fashion. The knocking sound always comes either after the toilet flush, or after the sink or shower is stopped using, and it continues on for almost one to two hours, and is very annoying. Sometimes the knocking goes on for hours, with absolutely NO water outlets being open / used.
I have changed the toilet fill valve which did not help.
HELP !! The knocking sound is very, very annoying.
