I found a great scraping tool at Lowe's and Home Depot for removing the popcorm from a ceiling. It's inexpensive. You attach a regular plastic grocery bag to it to collect the "droppings" as you scrape. Also, attach it to a sturdy or heavy duty broom handle pole (like the one's you buy in the paint dept). Make sure you wet the popcorn a few square feet at a time bc you don't want to let a large area dry out anf have to rewet. Then follow the directions for sealing holes and smoothing the ceiling surface found in the Tips section. Let the ceiling completely dry before painting, etc. I plan on putting in painted tin-look tiles.
