We are buying a fixer-upper in a real estate market that is very hot. This is a home that would need work before move-in. My questions are: can it be worth it? Where do we start? Do you suggest specialized contractors or a builder?

Any ideas on creative funding?

The home needs a whole new roof. Rafters, trusses(sp) etc.
Drywall and ceiling moisture.
New floors.
I would like to remodel the bathrooms which are in working order.
New kitchen, cabinets are okay.
