Removing toilet flange

Lonny,

I don't know what the waste pipe is made of. I don't think it's cast iron. the other bathroom in the house had a lead bend and the whole house has copper waste lines. What else can it be. It looks like the flange collar just slips over the waste pipe and then it looks like it's soldered to the brass flange on the iside of the flange. The flange collar is not mechanically attached to the waste pipe. So if i break the solder at the inside top of the flange I should be able to pull the flange straight up and off?
