Tom - it sounds like one of the limits failed and the inner slide has traveled too far and jammed. I would unplug the operator,loosen the chain, take it off the drive sprocket,and try to run the operator. If the drive sprocket turns, then I would back off the limits, reinstall the chain and readjust the limit travel. Make sure that the operator sprocket on top (looking down)has stopped after turning clockwise. That way the operator thinks the door is down. Reinstall the chain with the inner slide connected to the carriage assy. and the door in the down position.
The option is to replace it with any of the belt drive operators on the market from Sears, Liftmaster or Raynor. Can't beat a lifetime warrenty on motors and drive belts!
