you could go out through the soffit vents with a proper vent hood, but it would be better to go out the roof and have a hood vent with a flap in it. as having the vent terminate at just past the soffit will allow the moisture to head straight back up into the attic.
get a 4 inch fan that has a copper wound motor and not one of the cheapys (usually a 3 inch vent).
and insulate the pipe up to the vent hood to keep moisture from condensating in the pipe in colder months. and solid pipe is better than flex pipe as the flex can have dips in it to collect moisture.
