I would add a caution with the Delta faucets. When turning off the #50 dome cap you can turn the whole body of the faucet and twist the three 3/8" soft copper tubes connected to the valve body. This ruins the faucet. There is no way to back up the valve.
If the dome cap does not come loose you can try lubricants and/or knocking around the threads with a back up in an attempt to loosen the cap from the valve body. Sometimes we have to heat up the dome cap to get it to come off. This ruins the cam packing and the rest of the plastic parts that you are going to replace anyway.
