Pry it off with a flat prybar. Wear leather gloves! It will splinter badly and you may have to chisel off the remains. If it is hard to get it started, take a circular saw to it between the studs.
But if it was glued to drywall, that is another matter. It may be easier to remove it all and hang new drywall.
