retaining wall?

Posted by earle310 on January 22nd, 2005 12:00 PM

I am putting in a pool in my back yard in the spring, and i have to put a retaining wall. The wall i have picked out is by ideal products www.ideal.com. The name of the wall system is called Roman Pisa. My house is on a side street and the street slopes down to a dead end. I am located on the street with my yard sloping down, when they put the pool in they are going to have to lower the grade of my property down about 2-3 feet from the neighbor above me. When i put in the retaining wallshould i put in a drain in the ground in back of the wall? And also the wall is going from the back of my property up to my house, i would like to make a porch out of this same retaining wall system, to maintain a uniform appearance around my pool, but i do not know if it is made for this purpose. If it is possible to do this, the next question is once i put in the porch made out of this retaining wall system, how would i go about incorporating a railing around the porch?
