If the latchbolt is stuck in the latch plate, push the door closed until it releases. Or maybe you will have to lift up or push down. You can also move the latchbolt with a screwdriver from the inside, but that could damage it needlessly.
Once open, you will probably have to file the inside of the latchplate or reposition it. Try closing the door with the latchplate off to get a clue to what is going on.
