you could cut a peice of styrofoam plug to wedge in the hole.

the other usual way is to cut out the front kick plate(base)(9" wide) in the cabinate and put a vent grate(if you can find one that fits) over the opening. this will allow the air to still flow into the room. but if you take the cabinate away to another area ,then this won't be a choice.
