Hot air duct work insulation

Posted by Leo on January 27th, 2005 01:29 AM

I have forced hot air heat. The duct work runs in my basement which is kinda cold in the winter. The air seems to cool down a lot going from the heater through the basement and then up to my second floor. Is there any way to insulate the duct work so I don't lose so much heat? The duct work has two legs. The one leg goes right upstairs and those rooms it services are much warmer than the rooms serviced by the longer running duct work. The forced hot air feels a lot warmer in the warm rooms than in the cold rooms.
