Shower not hot sometimes

Once in a while, our shower water does not get very hot in the morning. The water heater is almost brand new, and we have it set to a hot setting.

Any opinions on fixing this problem?

We do have a funny shower nozzle...when you turn it the hot water comes on first. I don't know if that would have something to do with it.
