220V pool pump wiring

I am replaceing my old pool pump. It is a 220v,single speed, 1 phase motor hooked up to a timer and a household levitron toggle switch.Im also replacing the old wiring to be safe.Can someone outline a wiring diagram from the the toggle switch,timer,to the motor for me? It seemed to work fine before I started, but the setup is 40 yrs old, & I would like to upgraded it right.Suggestions on waterproofing also?
