ATTN.: Mr. Lonney and Doug Siebert.
I thoroughly inspected the problem washroom and found something that did not look normal. PLEASE read carefully, as this might be the problem:
We have two sinks nicely flushed with a common counter-top, side by side. Open the closet below one, the thin shiny metal pipe that runs short distance connecting the copper supply pipes to the faucet, is nicely going vertical (both, hot and cold), and connected to the faucet. BUT, the second sink is, I think, the PROBLEM : The shiny steel thin metal pipe that connects the copper pipes (hot & cold) to the faucet, is bent quite a lot, so it looks the shape of an inverted "S". The contractor's plumber must have screwed up, realised that the vertical copper pipes are not alligned with where the faucet is going to be, must have decided to bend the rigid pipe. The horizontal distance between the hot water copper pipe, and the hot water faucet, might be approx. 6 inches ( and so it is for the cold water copper pipe, going to the cold water faucet) - In other words, the copper pipes coming up, are not alligned with the faucet.
I have heard that improper bends wil cause the knocking sound. PLEASE LET ME KNOW if I am correct, so I can tackle the problem further. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
