I'm purchasing a 20 year old home. A certified building official has told me that there is truss lift which has caused cracks at the interesection of the ceilings and walls. He states this is not a structural problem which requires additional support or reinforcement; this is a cosmetic problem which is the result of normal expansion and contraction. This occurs throughout the house. The home is built on a slab. Assuming his statement is valid, what kind of filler do you suggest and how should the crown molding be attached. Will this continue to be a problem. I don't understand why this has resulted as I've never seen in a home before.
