Trusses are lightweight framing members that form a web supporting the ceiling/roof......
They are a modern Engineered product saving construction time and cost........They CAN change shape as the temperature and humidity change........Drywall cracking is the result
Newer construction methods attach the "ceiling" drywall to the top of the wall plate and the bottom chord of the truss....allowing the drywall to flex and move without cracking.......
A common work-around is to install Crown Moulding......attaching with backerstrips to the Ceiling ONLY.....The idea is to allow the movement but still conceal the junction of the ceiling/wall........
