I bought my Maytag Neptune in 2000. Yes the seal did not drain properly and mold formed on it. I dealt with it by leaving the door cracked so that it would dry when empty and using a towel to dry the seal. Then every few months I'd run an empty load with a half gallon of bleach. But I'm from Florida and everything here is moldy. And I was use to dealing with Sears appliances the people who without a doubt make the worst appliances are those who make the Kenmore brands. Therefore I was use to nursing my washer along. Then Maytag contacted me and asked if I was having the problems. Told them I was and the said that they would take care of it. Sent a new door gasket with drain holes in the bottom and a new computer. Now It works even better. Would never go back to Sears or Any other brand.

I should have listened to momma Her Maytag was 27 years old when it broke.
