Depends on Your Water

The answer depends upon your water.
Have it tested and analyzed and the results will dictate what type, if any, softener you need.
Different types of softeners are required for different types of water problems.
If you have high iron content, magnetic softeners will work.
If high dissolved minerals, salt systems will work.
