It is true that P3102.1 says that a vent must run to the open air, but it does not say it must go through the roof.
P3103.6 Extension through the wall. Vent terminals extending through the wall shall terminate a minimum of 10 feet from the lot line and 10 feet above adjacent grade within 10 feet.
P3114.3 Where Permitted. Individual vents, branch vents, circuit vents and stack vents shall be permitted to terminate with a connection to an air admittance valve.
P3114.7 Vent required. Within each plumbing system, a minimum of one stack vent or vent stack shall extend outdoors to the open air.
I appreciate the opportunity to talk about codes because they are changing and we have the new editions coming out soon. They're getting to be like the income tax laws. Something new everytime.
