Wall to wall carpet - temporarily remove, then reinstall Posted by Vonloxi on February 9th, 2005 01:27 AM

I need access to the subfloor under the wall to wall carpet in a room of my house. I want to pull back a hunk of berber carpet ten feet wide for a distance of 10 to 12 feet (opening three edges) and replace it on the tackless when I finish. The carpet has been in place for 10 to 15 years.
Is this a reasonable homeowner task? How would I non-destructively remove the carpet from the tackless. Will I need to rent carpet installation tools to reinstall it? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
